Gifted Stores
Clothing and household products
With year on year growth of more than 25%, Gifted Stores is proving that getting niche is a viable alternative to getting big or getting out. Gifted thrives by offering 'something different'. Managing director, Gary Skelton acquires high quality clothing and household products as redundant stock from the bigger high street chains. "It works particularly well because the availability of smaller batches usually indicates that it has sold well."
From the start in 2006 Gifted implemented seven Actinic EPOS tills and back office software, enabling them to manage the 7000 product lines and place orders with its 70 suppliers with consummate ease. Skelton says, "Actinic EPOS is an integral part of the business and using it, we can see the sales figures and stock position at the press of a button. Just in terms of the time saved checking stock and preparing purchase orders, it paid for itself in less than 12 months."

The House Of The Tailor Of Gloucester
This tiny historic building next to the Gloucester Cathedral precincts, immortalised in Beatrix Potter’s second book The Tailor of Gloucester, is now run as a museum and shop by a group local volunteers.
The volunteers, many of whom are not computer literate, appreciate the intuitiveness and ease of use of the Actinic EPOS system. Manager Colin Nyland values the management time it saves him, and the information it provides about their products, sales and stock levels.

Bossy Boots
Fashion
footwear chain
Bossy Boots are an ambitious and growing footwear retailer based
in the north-east of England. To tie in with their expansion plans,
they were looking for a reliable, fully featured EPOS system for
their business. A friend recommended Actinic EPOS, and they haven’t
looked back since.
“ Since installing Actinic EPOS we have increased our profit margins, reduced
our stock holding, and virtually eliminated shrinkage”, says Bossy Boots’ Nick
Walls. “We now have all of the information we need to build on our success
- right at our fingertips.”
Actinic EPOS is based upon a Windows PC, which means the interface
is familiar and easy to use. The software manages the company’s
whole inventory, creating and printing purchase orders for each supplier.
All shelf edge tickets and barcodes are printed directly from the
system onto a normal A4 printer. Stocktaking has become much faster
and simpler, enabling a full stock-take in just a couple of hours.
“Support was an important factor for us and this is excellent”,
comments Walls. “Actinic can even dial in and remote control my system
whenever I have any queries. I really couldn’t be happier.”
